The Southington Regional Chamber of Commerce seeks a the ideal candidate to fill the Membership Programs and Events Coordinator position. We are looking to fill this position so that the new employee may train alongside the current MPEC.

Position / Type

Membership Programs and Events Coordinator

Full-time / Salaried Position starting $60,000 / Some Benefits

Monday through Friday (with occasional weekend events)

On-site location / remote work not permitted

This position reports to the President & CEO

Role Description

The Membership Programs and Events Coordinator will be responsible for planning and managing programs and events including the annual golf tournament, Awards Gala, Wing Fest Competition and networking programs; creating social media content, coordinating e-mailings and the Chamber monthly Newspaper, securing sponsors and advertisers, providing excellent customer service to members, and effectively communicating with various stakeholders. The role also involves administrative, and sales activities and support aimed at membership growth and maintaining strong relationships with local businesses and community partners.

Qualifications

Candidate must be able to think strategically and handle issues effectively; become familiar with member businesses and the Southington Community at large; be extremely well organized; adapt quickly to change of direction; handle multiple projects simultaneously; possess excellent oral and written communication skills; work well independently and in a group setting; be proficient in Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms; be proficient in CRM, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Word, Excel, WP, Photo Shop, Adobe, Canva, Constant Contact and the ability to learn other software programs quickly.

Qualified individuals will have at least two years professional experience in event planning and fundraising for a Chamber of Commerce, Association, not-for-profit or business-related field. Internships will be considered in weighing experience. Recently college grads in related fields of study welcome to apply. Bachelor’s degree preferred, Minimum of associate’s degree and experience, in related field.

Screening

Must have legal driver’s license and have own car

Be willing to undergo background check, in accordance with local law/regulations

Be legally authorized to work in the United States

Be willing to take a drug test, in accordance with local law/regulations
